Our Ministries

Education Ministries - Click for brief class descriptions and locations
First Baptist has Bible study classes for all ages in a traditional Sunday School setting along with a number of special studies offered during the 9:45am hour. On Wednesday evenings, following an inexpensive buffet style meal at 5:00pm, we celebrate a prayer and praise time. Please click for a more detailed colorful brochure.

ECDC - Early Childhood Development Center
We provide child care and child development for bed babies through pre-kindergarten age. Our ECDC is known as one of the best pre-schools in the area.

Music Ministry
First Baptist worships with both traditional and contemporary music. In our traditional worship service we have a sanctuary choir accompanied by one of the largest pipe organs in the area. Our contemporary worship service is led by a number of volunteers who share a variety of gifts and musical instruments as they help direct and prepare us for worship.

"Points of Light" Prayer Ministry (PoL)
A number of families have committed themselves to meet each week on a specific day at a specific time to pray over a very focused number of requests which are updated every week. The intention is to help us gather and effectively pray with as little distraction as possible. As James instructs, “The fervent effectual prayer of a righteous person does much”. Please click here to learn more and find a PoL near you.

Spanish Congregation
Iglesia Bautista Betania (Bethany Baptist Church) meets in our chapel every Sunday morning at 11:00am for worship. This congregation, worshiping in Spanish, is made up of people from many Spanish cultures including Mexican, Puerto Rican, Central and South American, and Cuban.

Student Ministry

FBC not only provides Sunday School classes for middle school and high school youth, we also provide Bible study and worship directed to the needs of our youth on Wednesdays (at 6:30pm) and Sunday nights from 5:00 - 6:30pm. We also gather with our young people in the Family Life Center for recreation. Throughout the year we offer many opportunities for teens through camps, retreats, fellowships, and mission trips.

Benevolence Ministry
Every Tuesday, (excluding holidays) our team of church volunteers interview those who have made appointments, and who are in need of financial assistance in the way of help to pay utilities, fill prescriptions, or for those with young children in the household (5 years and younger), food vouchers to Publix. Applicants to the program should call the church office (386) 734-5085, and make an appointment. They should come to the interview process with a photo I.D., and proof of their need. Each case is considered on an individual basis, but the average amount of assistance that one might hope to receive is about $40.00. Applying to the program does not guarantee approval for assistance. Funds for our Benevolence Program are made possible solely by the generosity of our church family, through their monetary gifts to the program. We do not accept referrals from other churches or agencies, and we do not receive any government funding.

Senior Adult Ministry
Our Senior Adults meet monthly throughout the year. They enjoy programs that entertain, educate, and provide guidance for the unique challenges seniors face. They also visit area restaurants together on a regular basis and occasionally take trips to interesting locations. Call or stop by the church office to learn more!

Deacon Ministry
We have a team of men and women who give pastoral care to church members through groupings built within Sunday School classes.
