The social developments emphasized in the age group are independence, punctuality, respect for others and increased interaction with peers. Curriculum areas include: art, science, dramatic play, music, books, blocks, puzzles, math, table games, and outdoor play. Teachers are free to adapt the curriculum to suit the academic needs of the children. Outdoor play and movement education are included to promote the continued advancement in large motor coordination.
