About First Baptist - Map to FBC in PDF format

First Baptist Church is a fellowship of very diverse individuals with a heart for the DeLand community. We have a rich history dating back to 1880, and many are surprised to learn that Stetson University was born in the First Baptist Church. We gather for Sunday morning worship at 8:30 and 11:00am.

Our early service meets in the Family Life Center where our worship team leads us in contemporary praise choruses to help us prepare as the Holy Spirit instructs and shapes us into the image of Christ. In this informal setting we enjoy light refreshments before and after the service while we visit with one another.

Our 11:00am service meets in the main sanctuary. In this traditional service we are privileged to be accompanied by some of the best musicians in the city. Our excellent choir prepares inspirational anthems each week that get us in the proper spirit and attitude to hear a word from God, and we are blessed with one of the finest pipe organs in the region.

The Iglesia Bautista Betania also meets at 11:00am in our chapel to worship, teach, sing, and minister to the needs of the large Hispanic population in DeLand.

Bible study is offered at 9:45am through many classes for all age groups. There are classes for children, youth, men, women, and even mixed classes, and also in your choice of language, English or Spanish!
